The short version
- One capsule is one serving: 25 mcg (1,000 IU) of vitamin D3 (125% DV) and 45 mcg of vitamin K2 as menaquinone-4 (MK-4).
- $8.92 for 120 capsules on Sep 30, 2026 is about 7 cents a capsule ($8.92 ÷ 120).
- What to know first: the vitamin K. NOW's own caution names anticoagulants such as warfarin and heparin.

The listing's directions read "Take 1 capsule 1 to 2 times daily with food." The strip draws the one-capsule serving on the panel. At two a day, a bottle lasts 60 days. Neither is our recommendation.
What the label shows
We read the Supplement Facts image on the Amazon listing for ASIN B0019QT9LA (120 veg capsules) on September 30, 2026, together with the label text on the same listing. The panel has just two lines, with a serving size of 1 capsule. The listing text gives 120 servings per container.
| Nutrient | Per serving | % Daily Value | What to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vitamin D (as D3 cholecalciferol) | 25 mcg (1,000 IU) | 125% | The listing text says the D3 is from lanolin |
| Vitamin K2 (as menaquinone-4) (MK-4) | 45 mcg | † (printed) | The label marks it "Daily Value not established"; FDA's DV for vitamin K is 120 mcg |
Other ingredients in the label image: rice flour, hypromellose (cellulose capsule), maltodextrin, ascorbyl palmitate, modified starch and silicon dioxide. The allergen statement reads: not manufactured with wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nut or sesame ingredients, and produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens. The front panel says "Supports Bone Health" and "Plus Cardiovascular Support". Those are the brand's claims, and we don't repeat them as ours; the second line is removed from the photo on this page.
About the K2 line: the label prints a dagger instead of a percentage. FDA's Daily Value table lists 120 mcg for vitamin K [4], so 45 mcg is a little over a third of that figure. The label itself does not state a percentage.
What the format changes
Why a capsule works here. Vitamins D and K are fat-soluble. MedlinePlus explains that fat-soluble vitamins are absorbed more easily when dietary fat is present [1], and the directions here say to take the capsule with food. The two vitamins together weigh 70 micrograms, a speck. Most of what fills the capsule is rice flour, maltodextrin and modified starch, there to give the machine something to measure.
Plant shell, no sweetener. The shell is hypromellose, a cellulose derivative, so there is no gelatin. There is no sugar or sweetener, and the capsule is swallowed whole. For anyone who would rather not swallow pills, the Carlson Super Daily D3 drops in the Liquid compartment deliver vitamin D by the drop. That product has no vitamin K, so it is a different product, not just a different format.
Which K2. MedlinePlus names the forms of vitamin K as phylloquinone (K1), menaquinone (K2) and menadione (K3) [3]. Menaquinones come in subtypes, and this label names MK-4. Other K2 products may list MK-7 instead, so if you are comparing products, check which subtype is printed rather than assuming. The panel on its own does not tell you whether one subtype works differently from another, and we don't make that claim.
Cost. At about 7 cents a capsule on the date we looked, this is the cheapest capsule in the organizer by a wide margin. The price stays low partly because it holds only two nutrients.
What the evidence says about the nutrients
MedlinePlus explains that vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium, which is needed for normal bone formation [2]. It lists 600 IU (15 mcg) a day for adults 19 to 70 and 800 IU (20 mcg) for adults over 70, with a safe upper limit of 4,000 IU (100 mcg) a day for people 9 and older. It also notes that vitamin D toxicity almost always comes from taking too many supplements. One capsule gives 1,000 IU, and two give 2,000 IU. Either is under that limit alone, but not necessarily once a multi or a fortified food is added.
MedlinePlus calls vitamin K the clotting vitamin, because the liver needs it to make several clotting factors. It says vitamin K can affect how the blood thinner warfarin works, and that people on warfarin are asked to keep their vitamin K intake steady from day to day [3]. Its adequate-intake figures for adults are 120 mcg a day for males and 90 mcg for females. NOW's caution on the listing asks people to consult a physician if they are pregnant or nursing, take any anticoagulant (it names warfarin, Coumadin and heparin) or other medication, or have a medical condition. It also marks the product "for adults only".
If you take a blood thinner, talk to your clinician before adding any vitamin K product, this one included. If you already take a multi, add its vitamin D to this capsule's 1,000 IU before deciding on one or two a day.
Price and where it is sold
On September 30, 2026 the Amazon listing showed $8.92 for 120 veg capsules, shipped and sold by Amazon.com, in stock. That is about 7 cents per one-capsule serving, or about 15 cents a day at the label's upper direction of two capsules. A lower subscribe-style price ($8.47) was also shown; we used the one-time price. The listing marked the item non-returnable for food-safety reasons, with a refund or replacement if it arrives damaged or defective.
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone taking warfarin, heparin or another anticoagulant, unless their clinician has approved it. NOW's own caution names these medicines.
- Anyone who wants vitamin D without vitamin K. The Carlson D3 drops are vitamin D only.
- People avoiding lanolin-sourced vitamin D. The listing says that is the source here.
- Children, since the label says it is for adults only.
